Blue Stars (5 years)

A 55 minute class for children with a beginning level of gymnastics experience. No prior experience required. Classes focus on foundational gymnastics skills, physical fitness, movement confidence, and fun! While gymnastics is the primary focus of the class, attention is placed on skills needed for school and overall sports preparedness. This class will provide your child with lots of opportunities to run, jump, spin, climb and go upside down. In Blue Stars, your child will learn: forward/backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, basic bar skills such as front support, forward roll dismount and casting, balance positions and basic walks on the beam, and trampoline safety.

Supernova (5-15+ years with adult)

This is an adult led open gym class for children ages 5-15+ years with special and adaptive needs. The goal of this class is to promote gross motor skill development, motor planning, and movement confidence! Our facility is ideal for movement exploration and play. Staff will set-up a variety of obstacle courses using gymnastics equipment. In addition, participants will have access to trampolines, climbing ropes, bars and balance beams. We also have an enclosed synthetic turf area if your child would like to play outside. While Novato Gymnastics Staff will be on-site to supervise, Staff will not be teaching the class. An adult is REQUIRED to stay for the duration of the class and be responsible for their child. Please note, participation is limited to ONE adult per participant. No additional adults, family members, or similar, may be out in the gymnastics space. Teen Tumbling & Gymnastics (11-14 years)

A new 85-minute class for tweens and teens who want to continue gymnastics beyond our orange levels. This class will focus on strength, conditioning, flexibility, and progressions for more advanced acrobatic skills such as round-offs, bridge kick overs, walkovers, handsprings, and aerials. Great for dancers and cheerleaders as well as participants in other sports who want to get stronger, improve agility, and have fun being upside down. Curriculum Includes: foundational tumbling skills like handstands, cartwheels, forward/backward rolls and bridges; intermediate tumbling skills like round-offs, bridge kick overs, walkovers, handsprings and aerials; bar skills such as pullovers, casting and introductory circling elements; basic dance positions and postural control on balance beam; and trampoline safety and body tension.

An advanced-beginner level class for participants ages 4.5-5.5 yrs. with strong coordination skills, moderate strength and flexibility, and an eagerness to learn, be attentive, and focus on more detailed instruction. *This class is by invitation only. In Shooting Stars, your child will learn skills like: handstands, cartwheels, forward/backward rolls, bars skills such as pullovers, casting, and inverted hollow-holds, movement patterns on balance beam, and trampoline safety.

An advanced-beginner level class for boys ages 5-8 yrs. with strong coordination skills, moderate strength and flexibility, and an eagerness to learn, be attentive, and focus on more detailed instruction. This class is by invitation only and attendance is required 2 days per week. In Boys Comets, your child will learn skills like: handstands, cartwheels, forward/backward rolls, bars skills such as pullovers, casting and swinging, introductory circling progressions on the pommel horse, and trampoline safety.

In Girls Green Comets, your child will learn skills like: handstands, cartwheels, forward/backward rolls, tripods and bridges on floor, bar skills such as pullovers, casting and inverted hollow-holds, basic dance positions and introductory handstand progressions on beam, and trampoline safety.

An intermediate level class for girls ages 6-12 years who have mastered basic level skills and have developed adequate strength to work on higher level progressions. Participants are disciplined, eager to learn and have demonstrated attentiveness to coaching. Rockets is part of the developmental program designed to prepare gymnasts for competitive level gymnastics. *Classes are by invitation only and attendance is required two days/week. Curriculum includes: speed, agility and tightness for vault, pullover, casting and back-hip circles on bars, postural control on balance beam and basic handstand progressions, as well as forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, bridges and walkovers on floor. If your child is 8 years old, please talk to your child’s instructor to determine which class is the best fit.
